Southside Baptist Church is on mission to be an inclusive community of grace manifests in the practice of extravagant generosity. In collaboration with Iron City Church, the Community Food Bank of Central Alabama, and the United Way of Central Alabama, Southside Food Pantry serves our food-insecure neighbors every other Thursday from 1-3pm. Operated by a host of volunteers from a variety of local churches, the Southside Food Bank serves at least one hundred individuals on a weekly basis. “This is the church’s mission,” noted volunteer Donna Burgess, “and we find our meaning and purpose as Christians when we engage in mission.”

The New Life Fellowship (NLF) Program is nine-month Christian recovery program which seeks to address the issues that cause homelessness and the barriers that hinder one from returning to a productive life.

The NLF Program is divided into four phases. Satisfactory progress has to be made in order to graduate into the next phase. A review committee of senior staff members meets every two months to determine if advancement is warranted and a weekly meeting is held to report on general progress.

Turning Point offers a peaceful and safe environment just south of Birmingham, AL for men battling substance use disorder to find recovery, strength, and hope. Our program has been cultivated to be a residential 12-Step Immersive Experience, with a Christ centered emphasis. We believe that everyone deserves recovery, and an opportunity to grow spiritually to become the person God intended.
